Melted Snowman Biscuits

School is officially over for the holidays so you’ll have plenty of time to spark your child’s creativity with this fun and incredibly simple Christmas cookie recipe. Disney's Frozen is still as popular as ever, so these melting snowmen should amuse and delight your little ones to no end. We also know you’ll have an endless swarm of godchildren, nieces, nephews and more of Santa’s helpers to feed and entertain this year, so just make sure your batch is big enough…

Melted Snowmen Recipe

Serves 16 People

Cooking Time 2-3 Hours

Difficulty Easy

Ingredients

400 grams of Sugar Cookie Mix

60ml Water (4 tbsp)

8 Oz. White Cookie Icing

16 Marshmallows

1 (.75 ounce) tube black decorating gel

3 (.75 ounce) tubes of different colour decorating gels

Chocolate sprinkles

Sprinkle Mix

Method

  1. Pour the Sugar Cookie Mix and a few tablespoons of water into a large mixing bowl and stir together well until you have a stiff dough.
  2. With a teaspoon, heap the dough onto an ungreased baking tray in sixteen thin circles (adjust as required!) leaving generous gaps between them.
  3. Place the tray in the centre of the oven and bake for ten minutes, or until the cookies are lovely and golden. If you’d prefer a little extra crunch, leave them in for a few more minutes.
  4. Once the cookies have cooled, draw the outline of a snow puddle on each one using white cookie icing and then go back and fill in the shape. For extra fun cookies, let some icing drip over the edges to look like melting snow!
  5. While the icing is still wet, immediately place a marshmallow towards the back or side of each cookie to vary the look of each snowman.
  6. Once the icing and marshmallows have set, use black decorating gel to pipe twig-like arms onto the icing and then make fingers out of chocolate sprinkles
  7. Use the black decorating gel to make your snowmen’s ‘coal’ eyes and mouth, giving them an assortment of bemused and horrified looks… Use orange sprinkles to give them a ‘carrot’ nose.
  8. Carefully draw scarves around the base of each marshmallow using a variety of different colour decorating gels, and then use three different colour sprinkles or gels for each snowman’s ‘coal’ buttons and any other features your little ones can think of adding. Get creative with it!
  9. Allow cookies to dry for at least one hour before serving. It’ll be tough, we know…
